CeraTHERM® multilevel were developed at CeraCon and form an extraordinary system that is based on our many years of process experience. They combine the simplicity and robustness of the horizontal thermal systems with the flexibility and optimum utilisation of space provided by the vertical technology. Multiple horizontal processing chambers are configured vertically on top of one another and combined to form a multilevel horizontal system. Lifts or robots that transport the product carriers precisely and reliably from one level to another are positioned at both ends of the runs. The horizontal transportation within each level takes place by means of a conveyor belt system or by using a “push-to-move” system in the form of a roller conveyor. A separate temperature zone can then be set up on each level, including cooling and buffer runs. Flexibly combining the different levels makes it possible to carry out complex applications.

CeraTHERM multilevel

The compact and powerful soldering system VADU 100 is equipped with separate zones for soldering and cooling and can be operated with paste as well as preforms. Due to its small dimensions and the easy operation, the system is very suitable for production of small series and in laboratories for research applications.

The soldering system VADU 300XL is equipped with three separate process chambers with internal substrate handling and inline carrier transfer for highly efficient series production. The system enables void-free solder connections with preforms and /or pastes in a continuous process.

The soldering system VADU 400XL is equipped with four separate process chambers with internal substrate handling and inline carrier transfer for highly efficient series production. The system enables void-free solder connections with preforms and /or pastes in a continuous process. The reproducibility of the soldering processes is guaranteed by permanent process control. The VADU 400XL can also be integrated in customer‘s automation processes.

The vertical CeraTHERM catena systems are very space-saving industrial ovens.In contrast to horizontal continuous systems, these are constructed for each individual customer, based on the room height available. That way, they make it possible to save up to ten per cent of the production area, compared to the horizontal ovens. Each system is made up of at least one processing tower, each of which includes an upward and downward line. First of all, the parts are conveyed up to the oven entrance. Using the drivers of a transportation chain system, they are lifted upwards within the thermal system. At the top of the system, the parts are transferred horizontally, before commencing their downward progress. A separate temperature zone can then be set up within each transportation run. By combining any number of towers, complex temperature profiles and very long curing times can be defined, according to the requirements of the process.

CeraTHERM catena

CeraTHERM paternoster systems are a special type of vertically-configured thermal systems. In contrast to our CeraTHERM® catena or stack systems, the parts are transported using movable gondolas that are firmly mounted inside the thermal system and move in a circular manner. The entire process chamber therefore forms a single temperature zone. The system is generally loaded manually by an operator. Depending on the production process, the system can also be loaded automatically. The system structure and the control have been kept simple, so that our paternoster ovens are able to provide a high degree of reliability at a realistic investment level. CeraTHERM paternoster systems are available in standard and custom-made versions.

The 720-litre heating chamber is heated by circulating air. Using a foot pedal, the door of the thermal processing system opens pneumatically – for easy manual loading and unloading. Several levels and insertable trays ensure plenty of flexibility in terms of packing density. Supply and exhaust air connections allow volatile components to be extracted by suction from the process chamber (e.g. during hardening processes).

Soldering system VADU 200XL-W (Wafer). The soldering system of type VADU 200XL-W is equipped with two separate process chambers and can be operated with paste as well as preforms. The VADU 200XL -W enables the soldering of wafers up to 12″.

CeraTHERM® stack systems are extremely space-saving industrial ovens. Based on standardised production components, they can be configured individually for every customer, in order to utilise the available room height, thereby generating considerable savings in terms of production space.

The systems of the CeraTHERM® tunnel range are fitted with an individual processing chamber, through which the components are conveyed horizontally. They are especially suitable if the exposure time to temperature is rather short or the cycle time is longer.
